DUBAI, UAE / RankWire.AI / – UAE airline flydubai has increased its flight capacity to Italy to meet rising international travel demand. According to Emirates News Agency, flydubai is enhancing its presence in Italy by adding more flights to key hubs. Starting July 31, 2026, the airline will operate double daily flights between Dubai and Milan-Bergamo. It will also maintain daily round-trip services to Naples, strengthening its market position there.

This expanded schedule broadens flydubai’s overall operations in Italy. The airline already runs three weekly flights to Catania Airport in Sicily. During summer, it offers twice-weekly seasonal flights to Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport in Sardinia, which continue through August. Additionally, flydubai has announced operational changes due to scheduled infrastructure work in Southern Italy. Between November 1 and November 30, 2026, the airline will temporarily reroute its daily service from Dubai International Airport to Salerno Costa d’Amalfi and Cilento Airport. Regular flights to Naples will resume on December 1, 2026. Passengers with existing bookings will be automatically transferred to the Salerno route during this period.
Codeshare Agreement Facilitates Seamless Passenger Connections at Dubai
The expanded routes to Milan-Bergamo and Naples operate under a codeshare agreement between flydubai and Emirates. This partnership allows passengers to benefit from integrated travel plans, single-ticket purchases, synchronized flight schedules, and through-checked baggage across both airlines. Using Dubai as a hub, travelers connecting from Italian airports gain quick access to long-haul destinations across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. They can reach Kenya, Oman, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Zanzibar directly.
This capacity boost aligns with broader aviation trends in the Middle East and Europe, where international passenger numbers are steadily recovering post-pandemic. The increased flights support growing trade, investment, and tourism between the UAE and Italy. The twice-daily service to Milan-Bergamo increases capacity for business travelers. Daily flights to Southern Italy serve rising seasonal demand from tourists visiting cultural sites along the Amalfi Coast.
Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, said that Naples and Milan have become key gateways in the airline’s European network. He emphasized that maintaining regional access remains a priority. Al Ghaith also highlighted the airline’s commitment to improving connectivity to underserved markets. He noted that market data shows flydubai is strengthening its Italy operations through strategic flight increases. This helps accommodate the growing passenger flows between the UAE and Italy, especially with travel volumes rising before winter.
Major Airports in Italy Offer Direct Travel Links
Jeyhun Efendi, flydubai’s Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce, explained that increasing direct flights to Naples and Milan-Bergamo highlights Italy’s importance to the airline. Efendi pointed out that non-stop routes allow passengers to connect easily via Dubai to global destinations. The airline’s teams are ready for the increased flight schedule, ensuring smooth operations for both passenger and cargo services.
The new operational efforts in Italy are part of flydubai’s ongoing fleet expansion and network development. As the airline adds more modern narrow-body aircraft, it plans further frequency upgrades on busy European routes. These Italian flights bolster Dubai’s role as a global aviation hub. They enable efficient movement of passengers and freight between Europe, the Middle East, the Indian Subcontinent, and East Africa.
